Last night at 1am I finished reading Max Lucado’s newest book Outlive Your Life. It was an easy read, compared to the books I am supposed to read for seminary this book was a breeze. Each chapter is about 10 pages and can be finished in less than twenty minutes. If you read one chapter per day you will finish in about two weeks, which is what I did.
One of the things I liked the most was that it is a book about action, not about being a better person or loving others more (certainly those are parts of the book) but for the most part it is about getting up off the couch and actually doing something.
I found the use of stories and the interpretations of scripture events to be very helpful in making the stories apply to me.
Also, the question in the back are not unusual to Lucado’s books but they are helpful and will make this a good book for a small group study.
This review is free and unsolicited. I bought the book with my own money and read it at my own pace with no requirement to post any kind of review. Enjoy your free advice knowing that you got your money’s worth from it.
