The Divine Crash

Something about itinerant ministry makes it difficult to be a part of a community.  Everywhere I go I will be the new guy.  Sometimes, this is good because I can say “I didn’t know.” but it can be bad because it means “I don’t know.”  I want to know people and say hi and yet having just arrived in town I can’t do that yet and by the time I get to a point where I can do that it will be time for me to move.

So how do I get involved in the community?  What do I do to insert myself into the community and become a part of it?   Anyone have any suggestions?  Any stories you want to share about how you joined in the community? Or stories of mistakes you have made?
