Sunday Morning Prayer

Most of the readers to this blog show up on Sunday, so I think I will try and put something new up on Sunday as well as my normal Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule. However, I think I will make Sunday posts always scheduled around prayers. I have put prayers up before and may still do that on other days but every Sunday just a brief prayer for those who are reading the blog on Sunday.

Dear Jesus, your word says that the prayers of the righteous are mighty. Sometimes we don’t feel mighty. Sometimes we feel weak, tired, and beat down. Sometimes it feels like the boot of failure is stepping right on our neck and there is nothing we can do to get up. Give us strength to endure, courage to fight, and a willingness to pray. Often times, in the midst of pain we forget about prayer, we simply scream “why?” Remind us that prayer changes things. Remind us that prayer isn’t about formulas or rituals but is simply about conversation. Remind us that it is more than conversation with our best friend but is conversation with the God of the universe who died for us and hears our every word.

In Jesus name we pray. – Amen
