scratch on my car
Less than three months ago my family bought a brand new Kia, this car was my first ever brand new car. It only had 7 miles on it before we bought it and now it has 2007 miles and it has its first scratch.
It isn’t a big scratch, it is right by the door and it isn’t that noticeable so I just pretend it isn’t there. However, if I don’t get the scratch fixed it could cause rust and ruin the car.Isn’t this how it is? We get that little mark on us and instead of getting it fixed we try to ignore it. It might just be a little ding, or scratch, and it might even be easy to fix but it gets ignored.
Why do we ignore it? We don’t want to take the time to fix it? The cost involved is more than we want to pay? Fear of making the scratch known to the public?
What would it take to fix something that small? My car came with a year of free scratch repair so to get it fixed I only have to call the 800 number so the guy comes out to fix it. The only cost is time and the fact that someone else has to know about the scratch on my car.
And maybe that is the fear, that others will know? If we pretend it doesn’t exist maybe no one else will notice.
Maybe people need to notice? Maybe the only way to fix the things that have damaged us is to tell people, to take our time and make it known to other people so they can help us fix it?
Maybe without that call to fix what is wrong with us we, like my car, can get rust and damage in other places we can’t see. Damage that can be so drastic that it would take even more time and even more money to fix.
