We give and Jesus takes John 6:1-15

Today you can listen to the sermon on iTunes or by clicking here. About halfway through the sermon I showed the God’s chisel video from the Skit Guys which only partially picked up on the recording but you can watch it here. YouTube Preview Image

My sermon started with a retelling of the scripture from memory and emphasizing the main points.

Then, I focused on the little boy because he was the only one to have any food out of 5000 plus people and he was willing to give it all away.

When we give what we have to Jesus he can turn it into more than we can imagine.

No matter what we have Jesus can turn it into better.

The trick is we have to give it before Jesus can take it.  We have to be willing to give up control of what happens to our wallet, time, job, life, all things.

When we give it, Jesus takes it.  We no longer have it. Sometimes we want to hold on to it, but for the boy the one meal that might feed him ended up feeding a multitude.

When we give away what won’t satisfy us Jesus can use it to satisfy thousands.
