Cheesecakes

cheesecake. What else is there to say, they are proof that God wants us overweight. Okay maybe not, but they are delicious. However, they take hours or days to make.I don’t want to sound arrogant, but I make good cheese cakes. My wonderful wife bought me a cheesecake cookbook with hundreds of types in them.

All this week I have made cheese cakes as a wedding gift of some very good friends. I am making four cheese cakes a Thin Mint flavor, Carmel Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Super New York.

Each one has taken several hours and is unique and requires separate techniques. Mix them to long and they won’t cook right. Put them in the refrigerator to fast and they will crack down the middle.

Through this process I may not know how God felt in making people but I think I get a hint of how he feels in Psalm 139. As I mix ingredients and add cornstarch that on its own is disgusting but left out the cheesecake is just horrible. As I knit together its inmost parts I think about God knitting together my life I think about the parts that I don’t like and would prefer be gone and left out because the event by itself is horrible but without it I wouldn’t be anything like I am now.

And all this from a cheesecake?
