Christmas Adam service
Last night we held a “Christmas Adam Service.” I call it that because Adam came before Eve. Holding our service on the 23rd allows the congregation (and the pastor) to spend Christmas even with their family. For this service I didn’t really give a sermon, instead I read a kid’s book to the people. The service started 15 minutes late because the Bell Choir director was late due to her cows needed sorted. This is not a joke, her family runs a dairy farm. We got started and the service was humming along nicely.
The sermon was actually me sitting in a rocking chair in front of the Christmas tree reading a story book called “The Christmas Cross” by Max Lucado. The story is about a man who learns that Jesus was born with love in his eyes and the cross in his heart because Jesus was born to die.
After I finished reading the story I simply commented that Christmas was about Jesus who shows that people can change and can be better than they are but only through the baby who was born to die for us.
Just to be on the safe side of copyrights we did not record this service.
After the service we had refreshments and a general conversation time and all of it went very well.
Merry Christmas!
