The Divine Crash

Last week I went and bought the obligatory thanksgiving turkey. This turkey was on sale for 49 cents per pound.  We only needed at 5 pound turkey for the 4 people eating dinner today.I went to buy the turkey on sale and realized that the sale turkey was only for any turkey over 18 pounds and the smaller turkeys cost 1.49 per pound. It was clearly a better deal to buy the 18 pound turkey but what do I do with all the leftovers?

What do I do? What turkey would Jesus purchase? Do I waste the money and buy the smaller turkey so there is less food wasted or do I save money and waste food?

I’m not sure what the right answer is, one leaves me broke the other leaves me being wasteful.  Does God care about the waste? Does God care about my wallet?

Would it be better if I took my leftovers to the homeless shelter? or do I bring the homeless here to avoid the leftovers?

Or do I avoid the whole thing and just eat ham, which isn’t on sale at all?

All I know for sure is that my view of this turkey is never going to be the same because I don’t know what to do with it.
